Nightwish's new album was released in September and it's still number one in the Finnish album chart so I guess that tells you something. I was never a fan, but the new singer is just horrible, I can't believe how well they're doing.
I actually thought the new singer was better, mainly for her slightly harder voice yet still managing to be soft..

Would it be daring to request an avi with the speedometer/camhack/stuff included? Might make an interesting watch :)

I find it kinda awesome that it somehow manages to get into a special stage in sonic 3. I'd be even more impressed if somehow it finished the first level though..

Can't you run PSX games from the disk drive, so you dont have to put them on your hard drive?
Theres that, but wouldn't different CD drives and speeds effect synchronisation? That and if the speedrun author uses an iso, things could be drastically different.

Well, I can put it this way if you would like; This topic will be redundant when SP1 is out, and all new issues of vista have the hotfix bundled in. Feel free to unsticky it, if someone has a problem they'll have to use the search function :)

What video card do you have? What video drivers do you have? What video plug-in is it using?

Have you heard of a thing called "version 2" and writing down the problems for later? Theres a reason incremental updates are done.

Upthorn's AVIsplitting Mupen64 v8 should probably be on the page also, primarily because it can be quite useful for windows users trying to record an AVI of a very long run. I've added the binary+source to my mirror along with some wording changes/clarification to the N64 section: (http://www.bluetoaster.net/emu/all.html#n64)

I know it was, otherwise you would have been lectured to death about how google don't pass validation and how the W3C do incredibly stupid things.

It'll be even less valid when I'm done with it. My rule of thumb is simple: if it works, keep it. if it doesn't work, try standards. if they don't work, get a better browser (or start using if statements and comment/holly hacks. ugh.)

Might I also suggest in future you provide more details in your topic than "problem", for example "MFC71.dll can't be found - help". I also had this problem at first, but the vba-dll.zip fixed it.

After being shocked today to learn I've used 80mb of bandwidth out of the 10gb I'm given every month, I've decided to follow suit with JXQ's kindness and do one of the following: 1. Mirror the emulators and re-recording mini-site for a while (at least until around July, depending on the bandwidth hit). 2. Help JXQ in some way make the site smaller by compressing the crap out of things to consume less bandwidth. 3. Both of the above. I'm not sure which of the above will help (if any at all), so let me know.

v20 was released because of v19 and its predecessors to have really bad emulation for gbx games. It corrupts games where original system doesn't. And I don't recommend such emulators for doing movies.
I would contest that "corrupts" is a far cry from the truth, which is more of an innacuracy of echo ram. The problem is that there are way too many bugs for it to be an acceptable release. Would you hypothetically try a new emulator (say, the next mupen) that has better compatibility, but introduces new bugs with things like frame advance missing frames or failing to work at all?

http://www.bluetoaster.net/tasvideos/sm64faq.html Have fun then. I asked previously, but noone would. Just FYI, the minimalist nature was because I originally intended it to be a smooth transition to the wiki, and I know that uses custom markup and stuff, so...

All 174 pages. They'd forget the question halfway through that and die of starvation.

Ahh, fair enough. Sadly, Gens doesn't appear to exist for Mac, so I can't use the .gmv file (and the AVI is no longer available). Oh, well. Someone mentioned a while back the possibility of a run of S3K with Super/Hyper Sonic already unlocked. Obviously this would have to start from a saved game.
http://darwine.sourceforge.net/ Might help? Might not be what you're looking for but still.

Thats a cool SMB3 glitch. I've recently become intrigued by the Crysis physics engine in a nonframeskip environment, the result being extremely high res smooth output to a movie. Crysis almost-photorealistic explosions Crysis ridiculous explosive barrels physics raping Crysis physics in general

Sonic 1&2/3 are quite different. I guess this could have its pros and its cons. I remember someone was doing a Sonic 1+2+3+3&K run a while back but they only released a single demo video and no input file, so I'm guessing it broke them down into a twitching wreck. While it would probably be impressive, the whole quad run thing is somewhat overdone (I know, theres only 1 but thats enough for me). Still, knowing me if it was made and well done, I would likely vote yes..
