Awesome! Thanks for linking this, Patashu. Looking through the user guide, I notice this emulator has frame advance. If it could someday also record movies, there's a game or two I have in mind.

A big new glitch in Sweet Home allows for sequence breaks to be performed. Link to video The effect of performing this glitch is that you can create a party where the two party members are not adjacent to each other. Normally the party members just follow in your steps and thus don't check collision. However now your party members are far away from you. You can move them remotely to pass through solid props (gates, rocks, etc) and NPCs and then take control of them for real after the sequence break has occurred. It also looks really funny! If anyone is interested in TASing this game again (the existing TAS is http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13905 ), this will for sure save tons of time.

As adelikat says here (log is from #tasvideos IRC), the only reason why MAME-RR isn't supported on tasvideos is because no one has submitted a MAME-RR TAS yet. So if you want to submit one (looking at you £e Nécroyeur), go ahead and do it already!

Link to video Arm Wrestling is the best punch out spinoff you never knew existed. No ports, it was only ever an arcade release. It loops forever, but after the second loop it never has new patterns (though it might keep getting harder in terms of timing, no one has tested). Both score and speed are interesting goals, since you can't milk anything indefinitely due to the time limit. http://www.twitch.tv/macaw45 does score runs of this game.

Because right now, there's no proof it can be successfully TASed on. If someone finishes a high quality run, it's obviously such a proof, and as long as it can be used, there must appear a new movie parser. The only question towards MAME is how complete its savestates are, and how deterministic they are. But actual testing automatically resolves that. Exact % of games with officially complete savestates is yet to be found out (not hard at all), but I'm damn sure it's high enough for us. BTW, MAME-rr can be compiled with UI (in future).

This might be a misunderstanding of the mechanics, but at 0:44 instead of jumping from the high point, could you have dropped down, jumped such that you enter the wall at 0:46 at the peak of the jump (or as high as you can get without having to slow down - could jump earlier than 0:44 so you clear the high point with downward momentum for example, so you can jump again earlier) so that you enter the wall at the same time (because you never slowed down horizontally) but higher, so you save time?
