even if the inputs were the exact same as the Main Game TAS, the argument could be made that the warpless TAS of Super Mario Bros. uses the exact same inputs on 1-1, 4-1 and all 4 levels in World 8. those two things being said, i would prefer Main Game and Marathon Mode to be separate publications.

not the exact same inputs. some timings and the lag reduction had to be tweaked a bit to get it all to sync properly.

wow. 20 years. what a milestone. i’ve only had an account here for about 7% of that time (1 year, 5 months and 11 days) but it’s been a fun ride. i’ve got to meet cool new people and have a cool new hobby i had always wanted to have years before. i have memories of watching TASVideos from as early as 10 years old. i’ve enjoyed cranking out all these tool-assisted speedruns thus far, and there will definitely be more to come from me! here’s to another 20 years of TASing!

but still, it would take an extremely long time to TAS and all the map layouts are uncontrollably random, so... yeah.

the thing is, the map goes on FOREVER and we can rack up an infinite amount of coins. so maximum coins wouldn’t be a viable goal choice.
