Speaking of that run cheating to get the version exclusive chips and go for 100% completion: Would using the Wii U virtual console ROM, which has a feature to unlock version exclusive chips in the opposite game (go the multiplayer screen then leave, they're now all in your pack), be accepted? It's an official release, though never meant to be played outside of one very specific emulator. If it is fine, a run aiming at moons should wait till the very end to do it instead of destroying everything with OP chips early.
Better to have an answer from a Judge, the original post was made in the Megaman battle network 3 white/blue thread.

somebody complained about embedding too many videos in another thread, and considering they're short, i'll just post a description https://youtu.be/c-RJALMR6Dw https://youtu.be/k1UejvRCt-8 Both are Kano combos, one is for max knives and the other is just trying to do as many different attacks as possible and i have confirmed that the grounded knee is an infinite. This knee infinite can also be started from an uppercut, but uppercuts don't let you buffer the knees, which makes timing the hits much harder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01YeZmcA4_Y the knee

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47520653453335338 Can't switch suits earlier, i think the suits are not getting speed from the slopes and they also force one extra switch right before the boss(the nephew dialogue requires normal clothing), I managed to lessen the boss battles to 8 hits but i'd really appreciate some HP addresses. EDIT: thanks challenger for the encouragement, I should lessen the rhythm now if i can't reconcile other stuff but hopefully i'll keep going with the TAS along with it EDIT2:i'll have to redo the first boss of the stage3, i made a very silly mistake by not switching both characters at the same time(something i tried to do many many times before and couldn't do it) http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47542870873818966 http://vgmaps.com/Atlas/SuperNES/MagicalQuest3-StarringMickey&Donald(J)-Stage3-DryDesert-Area2.png I TAS'd up to the entrance of the tunnel and i had 2 previous WIPs with going up outside the tunnel(killing Donald lol) and one incomplete TAS through the tunnel. 30910downstrat 30905upstrats i'm going UP but any mistake could make any strategy viable, both could be faster if accepted killing donald twice in a row, but i'm not too keen on that, since lives could give me other skips in the future.I also understand the game's camera better now, it only relocates to the character ahead if the character is touching some floor. Jumping delays it but there's no use to that since the balloon for the character's death usually doesn't put it back to the new platforms if the discrepancy between characters is too high. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47563659998521402 Link to video

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47472631183656101 stage2 is done, and i decided not to test medieval suit in the rest of the stage after i saw the stage layout,it's completely out of hand to play with medieval suits, there are boosts everywhere with forest suit, while medieval would have extra height for a shortcut, and everything else would be the extra height to attempt to compensate the lack of boosted jumps http://vgmaps.com/Atlas/SuperNES/MagicalQuest3-StarringMickey&Donald(J)-Stage2-FungusForest-Area3.png Link to video Info i forgot: a maximum charged attack from Med is worth double damage in the forest bosses, i don't know how many more opportunities i'll have for suicide switches and if there'll be lives along the way to collect but i'll try to use the feature as much as possible.

i voted no because the movie consists in a lot of optimized movement without actually dealing with most of the game's challenges which are the dungeons, so in a certain way, this looks like a longer any%, i'm familiar with the game and understand what all those bottle setups were for, but i think this has no appeal for people who don't get what's going on. it's also hard to keep track of the medallions since most are obtained through glitching. None of my statements apply to the TASer skill and knowledge, which must be incredible to have TASed this game and come up with such a different route for this category. I'm very interested in a 100% or no SourceRequiremente(heavy glitch)100%, if you ever decide to do one.

so i completed the first area but a doubt comes,by killing Donald and switching suits inside the balloon, i got a faster moth boss battle. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47424100496465159 The problem is I have to switch back to forest suit and i can't kill Donald as the medieval suit can't go below water level. My options are TASing with Donald in the medieval suit, deciding between switching later or sooner, or skipping the switch altogether. Now it just came to my mind i could try doing the same strat with Mickey but he won't be able to float which means he'll need constant water hops. yeah, i think hacks don't qualify for vault so it's really important to make it varied and entertaining, but then again, we don't have a brawl SSE submission, so you might consider TASing the actual game instead if you want to Vault the run.

There's no way Donald can propel Mickey forward, and i don't have to jump any higher than the normally necessary at any point(not to mention the ugly camera glitch that i had to use to get Donald up the third area). It seemed simpler to just put him where he's needed and less chances for lag.The time spent in each area is decided by the character that stays at the right of the screen after all, so as long as that guy doesn't lose time, it's all right. The real benefit of Donald would be in first area because he can clean the path simultaneously so Mickey can optimize his movement more. Forest donald doesn't get deccelerated in up slopes, i tested with medieval suits and mickey is affected the same while donald has this special property. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47212530449550688 http://vgmaps.com/Atlas/SuperNES/MagicalQuest3-StarringMickey&Donald(J)-Stage2-FungusForest-Area1.png

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47182545464506183 I'll upload the video later, i redid solo mickey and inserted the second character at the boss fight, finally beating the first solo mickey run in all areas. Link to video

I found a lot of little boosts while doing my 2player test, but something really sad is noticeable, i lost all my timesaves to the first suit cutscene lol each jump into a slope gives me some extra pixels, also i maximized slopes as much as possible with the 2 players, i managed to get a lot of time in all areas, despite the first boss being slower but the cutscene for the suits made me lose it all and only the final boss will tell if this first stage is faster or slower with 2players http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47122365667752519 EDIT: i finished stage1 with 2players and it's still slower, even though the boss fight is faster and hitting as early as possible. The second stage suit cutscene isn't slower, i believe, because both characters dress up at the same time. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/47142417139737002 Link to video

If it's a hack, you can do whatever is entertaining, and removing these limitations might be good but could also make the TAS repetitive if the same strat is enabled over and over because of you having all the options available.
