Interesting. No, you never specifically said "write short text". Instead, you said these things:
Telling what you think is necessary and what isn't in a submission is the same thing as telling us what to write. So we aren't liars.
Well no shit. You can't force me to write any certain way, except how I'm already going to write. I'll abide by the rules of the site, not your "suggestions".
How do you figure it's immature to point out to others why you disliked my submission? That's just filling people in who might not realize why any of this started. It was relevant to the topic because you decided to start complaining about the SDW submission in this thread. Don't start up something off-topic and then whine when it continues in that direction.
If you can't learn to type your thoughts correctly the first time when attempting to communicate, then you have no one to blame but yourself.

Well, I thought it would be incorrect to call this a tool-assisted speedrun since I'm not going for fastest time. How about cyborg run? Haha......not.

I watched my run all the way through, and it seems the main themes I kept were (1) constant firing, and (2) not missing shots, because to me, this is what kept the run entertaining. Some prizes I didn't get because they were in a place that I thought would disrupt the flow of the killing. And I didn't take weapons all the time because getting a special weapon changes the style of shooting if one of your goals is to not miss shots. Usually this means I can't fire as often, and that seemed like more of an action-killer to me than not taking the special weapons. The normal gun can usually get the job done when you have savestates on your side :)
I'm not trying to convince anyone to think of my movie as more entertaining; it depends on what the viewer was expecting. I just want to let everyone know why I made the choices I did. I understand that this isn't as obvious of a decision to vote on for some as a run that goes strictly for fastest time, because different people will have different ideas of what is the most entertaining for a game like this.

For anyone wondering, Phil complained in IRC about my Smash TV submission being too long (which is what Fabian was referencing). That's very mature of you to point to the SDW submission text, Phil.
For the record, not everyone agrees that a submission's text should be as small and uninformative as youraveragesubmission. Furthermore, the submission instructions don't specify a length minimum or maximum, so why do you try to regulate what you think others should type?
No matter how I feel, you're going to keep your submissions short and simple, and no matter how you feel, I'm going to keep mine long and detailed. Each individual can choose what they want to read and what they don't. This way, everyone wins! No one should have to put up with your needless ridicule based on your opinion of a "correct" submission text.
Seriously, how many more people here are going to try and pass off their opinions on other people as facts? It's a trend I don't care for, and I doubt many others do either.

Watched this just for fun; I've never played the game.
Wow.
This is fast. It's funny to watch this guy zip at near Magnet Beam speeds and then suddenly decide to walk 1/64th of his previous speed.
Also, this game looks impossible. Shooting through random walls to form somewhat-plausible paths that cannot be determined short of a massive amount of trial and error. Gotta love the early NES games.

My choice on the orbs was to take one for each player for the first two levels. It changed how often I was shooting the gun (because it shot twice as many bullets), and in level 3, I wanted to keep the shooting pretty much constant and so I didn't collect the blue balls through most of the level, although I took one for the boss and the room after.
It also helped keep the scores closer - if one player is killing twice as many for such a long level, it can get unbalanced and I was trying to keep it close.

I played F-zero for years and never discovered this shortcut jump. I only found the one in Port Town that was not allowed (the pit stop thing would carry your car backwards after you made the jump).

I loved the part when you headed the ball down the field the wrong way in the second half only to clobber one of the German players with it halfway down the field.

Well it seems like it takes a long time to get the glitch to work at this early level.
Overall, I think it's kind of neat, but honestly, I'm realizing this just isn't a game I think I could get much enjoyment out of watching. SO my comments here probably are best ignored.

You could probably do Smoke and Jade without cheat codes, although I don't know how easy it is to manipulate a starting stage. I personally think that would be just as cool...Noob always seemed like too little for too much work, to me.

All this talk is doing is making people think twice before being honest in their submissions.
1) Old run is Famtasia
2) This run in an improvement of 3:26, which is an extremely significant improvement
If we waited for absolute perfection at all times, nothing would get published. I'm personally surprised at Adelikat's opinion, as he is fronting the Famtasia improvement, and this is exactly the type of run that is fit for it. For me this is a no-brainer publish ASAP.

DKC2 done fully would require the bonus levels to be completed to get the kremcoins, so maybe that would be a run you'd like more. Just gotta wait for someone to do it / Sami will probably do it in a few hours.

I was hoping that I could show off that bug somewhere in World 3, 4, or 6, but it just didn't work out to where I needed to do it. In World 3, it happened that I needed to fight the hammer brother that I screen-scrolled onto, so I did some different randomness because it takes 9 or 10 frames of extra waiting to make the fight happen anyway.

I don't know what's more impressive; that you improved this by 16 seconds, or that you seemed to finish working on it in 16 seconds. Oil drum alley was really slick, please forgive the unintentional pun.

No matter how much this game is optimized, it seems there is always another way to save frames somewhere. It's just that complex.
This will become my motto one day soon.
