I think playing a Zelda tune in a Zelda game hardly qualifies as "something imaginitive and different".
Simpsons sounds like a good candidate: highly recognized and notes that can be played on the game (I'm guessing that's what was meant by "no sharps or flats".)

It isn't bias; I wasn't able to pin down the algorithm to write an entertaining N64 TAS. I got stuck when I had to solve for an explicit formula to a fifth degree polynomial. I'll keep working on it.
Edit: See, the joke is that its impossible. At least xebra would have laughed :P

? It worked as I intended. Either the logic is the same in this instance despite the order, or you're poking fun back at me and it's over my head :)
edit: ah crap, you're right.
edit: fixed it. Thanks for being a good sport, btw :)

Atro city, that was such an awesome idea, I just had to make one.
(It's in VB, so if you don't run windows, sucks to be you)
Edit: Fixed the bug Bisqwit pointed out :)

Kitsune: Take Kyrsimys's advice and stop derailing the thread with your requests of other games. Also,
Lastly, hentai? Very clever. Are you in middle school?

Hey guys :3 I was wondering if someone wanted to do a dodec-run TAS of all the Final Fantasy games, that'd be so entertaining. :4 I thought I'd bring it up here and at a few other unrelated spots. :8
I also had trouble on Metal Man's stage and today I ate spaghetti for dinner! It was yumm :5

SNES9x v9 puts the words "Failed to take screenshot" in every screenshot it exports. I bet this is a real easy fix.. I hate opening up v7 to take a screenshot, because then all my hotkeys are reset.

There's something in the rules about which mode to be used when TASing a GB, GBC, etc. I'm not sure of the specifics but you may want to take a look at it if you're messing with the mode.

This is all stuff that is improvable with effort and research and all that. You obviously want to see one - that's an essential part of someone who will make the TAS. I see it as pointless to put on several different threads about "Hey maybe someone should TAS this game ;3 ;3 ;3" "Yeah that'd be neat if someone TASed this game :3 :3" and then flat out refuse to even try to get the ball rolling yourself when no one is interested in it.
Interesting claim since you also started the thread six months ago.

I complain a lot without offering solutions, I post too much, I get easily annoyed by people, I'm mysogynistic, I sometimes hold grudges, I argue more than some people would prefer... all this and I still feel like I've got it together more than a lot of people, so you can imagine how thrilled I am with humanity.

The trick makes Sonic level-wrap. What usually kills him is that in the middle of the level, the lower boundary is higher than normal and Sonic has nowhere to climb to stay high enough, and so he touches the bottom of the screen. By running into the S-curve backwards with a very specific position / velocity, you can stay high enough to barely escape the bottom of the screen.
Levels where randomness can affect syncing include at least all of Marble Zone, Labyrinth 3, Scrap Brain 1 and 2, and possibly more. I don't want to improve one part just to screw up another. In this case, I like Marble 1's improvement a lot more than screen-wrapping in Green Hill 2, regardless of it being faster overall.
(Also, it would help me if you ended questions with a question mark (?), because sometimes I can't follow what you're asking and what you're stating when you end them all with commas or periods.)

After some discussion with adelikat and Fabian, I actually am wondering what's the policy on an improved submission of a game that sucks. It's never officially addressed on the Rules pages, but it seems to be a common thought that a run in this position is to be automatically accepted.
Me wonders why a run of this game was ever published in the first place.

I forgot to mention SMW96 vs 11. Yeah I completely agree with Fabian; there's so much more that can be demonstrated in the full run.
To me, MMX/X2 is two sub-par runs that happen to share controller input. Neat in concept, not in practice.
Maximus: I understand your position because Bionic Commando was the first run I saw when I got here that really made me go "whoa!", or whatever exclamation I was using at the time.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles: Surprising to myself, I agree with de-starring now. It's just...too much, for me, since it was redone. On the other hand, the updated Sonic 2 is excellent for beginners to see some 2-player cooperation, and the majority of the levels are played in some type of way that resembles traditional Sonic gameplay + doom speed.
Castlevania / Castlevania 4: Tough one. I like them both a lot, for different reasons. I think I'd go with Castlevania 4 over the original, though. I'm not sure how much it can be improved but I actually just watched it last night and was still surprised at the amount of enemy boosting there is to be found. As a bonus, the music is just amazing in that game.
SMB2 / SMB3: I think they are different enough to star them both. I personally don't like SMB2 nearly as much, but it is a great demonstration of what tools can do to a game most people know fairly well. Speaking of popular runs I don't like, every Zelda run.
Gimmick: Yes, this is a prime star candidate. Not too short, not too long, good graphics/sound, nice abuse. I'd vote for the full run, myself.
Bionic Commando: Zurreco, I'll fight you forever on keeping this star :D
Harmony of Dissonance: I agree with Zurreco, though my opinion could easily be filled with bias since I did the run.
Stars to be included in the EVERYTHING MUST GO SALE:
Umihara Kawase: Yes I know it's got neat physics. It's still the lamest run since lame came to lame town. Go watch Ninja 5-0 if you want some more realistic swinging skills than Bionic Commando.
Mega Man X/X2 dual run: And while were at it, does this scream "concept demo" to anyone else?
River City Ransom: What exactly is appealing to a newcomer about this outdated run?
