Alot of changes between genesis and pc versions. I don't think you need to surround your repair shop for the carry-all to transport units there. They will fetch them anyways. I think the turrets shoot at fremen. In what way do you mean that sandworm counts as a fremen? I don't think it will attack you unless you touches it first. But I don't know in the later levels. Like last level for example. Not sure if the sandworm will touch you. When you play as atredies. Sonic tanks deal damage to each other I think.

Ok.. I coulden't resist the temption of watching this WIP. :D I thought of a thing.. In elecman's level. Right before the boss as you are climbing upwards, you pause in order to not get killed right? Why don't you change weapon there instead of pausing an extra time after elecman spawns? Perhaps you could save some frames there?

OMG!! I think I requested this game long time ago! I will watch this right away.

It was not very hard to do the first mission. I played long periods with 100% speed which will definitely be impossible in the later missions. I guess there's not much room for improvement unless the harvester can be manipulated to collect spice faster. Actually, sometimes it was faster, but that caused desync! Yeah, and sometimes the buildings were manufactured a few frames faster than normally which made the playback desync. I had to check the movie after every installed building. Irritating & strange...
In the pc version of the game you can click like crazy on the harvesters in order to suck up spice faster! Not sure if it applies to the genesis version. But you could give it a try! Edit: I have now watched it. I can just imagine what this will look like in the final mission. Please make a couple of more levels Aqfaq! I was going to say "Perhaps you should go for 100% kills" but then I remembered that it will take longer time at the score board. So that might not be a wise idea. :) About the rom.. I think it's faster than "Battle for Arrakis". Atleast thats my imagination. I think the sound is too fast. :) But that doesn't bother me that much. Have you tried if you get the same desync problems in "Battle for Arrakis" rom? I got this game hardware for genesis and it's soo cool to see it being made like this. Damn stylish. :) If a full version makes it to submission I will not hesitate to vote yes I'm sure. :) Edit 2: You said that the missions after level 2 will be hard. Well.. You could use a code to reveal the entire map and studdy the AI. They will always do the same in the first waves. After that I think it's more random, depending on if you destroy their buildings etc. Oh.. And since you will have so much controlability over your units it would be sad to see any losses. But this can be extreamly hard to make, and not even necessary. :) You could for example take a trike or something and finish the entire last level by moving around the enemy when they are shooting at you. And perhaps manipulate their death hand missiles to hit their base instead? *drooooooool* :p

To clearify what I ment earlier.. Coulden't you search those values? Like in Zsnes, or is it Snes9's cheat searchx? Can't remember which of the two emulators it is. Then perhaps you can search the entire game for similar changes and fix those values?

That hack should be really easy right? Search for the value before you bump into the object. Then bump into the object to reveal it and search again. Then I presume that you will get the code that changes. After that you could just search for all those right? It could be harder to see what levels it would be though. But perhaps you could make a hacked rom with all those bumped items shown without having to bump into them? Then just print screen the entire game and compare to a print screened non hacked game. :D

I think atleast Bisqwit starred in "The matrix" as he obviously sees everything as code. :)

I was not talking about scrolling horizontally. I was talking about vertical. It's being used in other levels, such as Ice man I think. And it's used in finalfighters video as well (in the boss rooms). He climbs upwards and zips and ends up below (?) the boss room. Ain't the floors before the clone solid enough?

That was very cool finalfighter! A question though. After those two bosses, would it be possible to jump up and zip in order to scrol down instead of climbing all the way down to the clone? Not sure if you understand what I mean. If not I will have to make print screens. :)

Heh! You should leave bisqbot crunching games for a couple of months and see how fast it will complete a game! :D Of course you would need to tweak it alot for it to understand all things that could be done. :)

Oh? I thought FDS versions had a "load" thing from time to time. Like in Zelda 2, or Eggerland?

It could also produce more lag right? Since it would produce a new death animation to the fleas. Not sure if it's a heavy load for the NES though?

Would there be any load time that obsoletes the use of UP+A? I mean.. Since the FDS version needs to load from time to time. For instance.. When getting the first sword and using up+A. Would there be a load time which takes longer time than to just walk out of the cave?

Hehe.. I guess this is being more of a "tool-assisted" speed run. :D Since it's the tool which makes the run partially. Perhaps we should name it a bot-run or something like that eh? =D

I'm just lurking around in this topic to read whats new etc. I'm very eager every time I see a new post. I just doesn't have anything else to add. I don't know this game that much even though I really do love it. I don't want to watch the WIP because I don't want any spoilers. I want to watch the completed and submitted video once it's done. Then I will fully lean back and enjoy this run with big eyes.

Well.. If that's the case daniayaw I will need to restart my run. Which will not happend because I beleive it's quite entertaining as it is right now, by not killing all enemies. By killing all enemies, do you also count those boulders that comes rolling in some occations? Because those are not easily killed.

Yeah.. 2P mode is much slower due to lag. The question will be though if there is room for both a 1p and 2p production on this web site? Or should it be the fastest movie only? Some funny stunts can be pulled with 2p which cannot be done in 1p. And no.. My run is not dead. Just busy.
