I agree with choice 1 as well. It wouldn't be worth losing 20 seconds just for the Sketch Pad App to use for a brief moment. It'd also be a bit too distracting from the path the player is taking while in the void.

I'm surprised neither of the golden sun titles have gotten any love around here
There were 2 Golden Sun submissions, to my knowledge. One being Golden Sun-JP and the other being of Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Both were rejected due to not being fully optimized. There's still hope though!

Ah. Fair enough. So aside from possible coin management and good 1-3 bonus, not much there.

Great work, mkdasher! Do they go the same route/direction or do they differ in some way?

I've starting working on 100%, I just get the bow (about 40 minutes of gameplay). But I'm not fully satisfied of my work, it's more like a "superplay" than a TAS (it's really far from the amazing WIP of the any%). I'll try to render a video of it, if someone is interested in.
Nothing wrong with a superplay, y'know. I don't know if it can be formally published because the site's focused on speedrunning, but I think tool-assisted superplays are always good to watch - you get the freedom to do things that you won't always see in a speedrun.
That's true to an extent. Superplays are also welcome and sometimes encouraged. Genisto's Super Mario All-Stars: SMB3 "Playaround" TAS and bobmario511's Zelda: Link's Awakening "Playaround" TAS are great examples of this.

That's great to hear that Hard Mode will be done again. Is there anything particular that Normal Mode needs to be improved on? If so, I'd like to know in case I decide to take it on.

As I noticed from the other submissions, this is again suboptimal. If you are new, then might I suggest taking your time on working on this? It'd help in the long run. Abstaining my vote.

Why exactly do we have two "best runs on the site" tiers, again? I get the impression that Star tier has exactly the same purpose as Newcomer tier.
Probably a question of size. The star tier ought to be relatively small in content (because it's a selection of "watch these first" runs). The moon tier has no size limit.
Warp, I'm not talking about Star vs Moons. I'm talking about Star vs Newcomer. Star tier is the "watch these first" runs, as you say; but Newcomer tier is also a relatively small list of "watch these first" runs. In other words, exactly the same thing. Moon tier is clearly different, of course.
Actually, Star tier means "movies we think are amazing." Newcomer tier is "movies that we think newcomers should watch first." I would imagine that Star movies would be allowed to be more difficult to appreciate if you're not familiar with the game, or represent a very high level of technical achievement that isn't readily apparent if you're not already familiar with how TASes operate. Which would be unacceptable for Newcomer movies.
I agree with this. Although I can't help but wonder if it's a matter of selection for such runs.

How exactly does hiding the Vault runs becomes part of it?

This was an alright movie. This went by very fast, yet it was a little difficult to follow the moves made (not that it matters). Entertainment wise, it went by quickly that it didn't have a chance to bore me. Weak Yes vote.

Are there any pit hacks where it might be helpful in? Judging from the few hacks that I saw, it doesn't seem so. Figured I ask about it regardless.

Interesting idea. It has happened to me a few times on both NES versions and Genesis versions where the game would never end. Although the Genesis version does this more often due to AI being very selfish with trades mid-late game. I'd wonder how a TAS would go about setting the scenario up.
