Which third person shooter is the hardest in your opinion? If you try Trigger Man, I guess you'll turn it off fastly. This game has not gained widespread popularity due to its difficulty and crappy gameplay. No-one even tried to speedrun it and there are only 2 walkthoughs of it on YT, so this game must be TASed! GAME DETAILS Control Constol stick: Up/Down - go forward/back; Left/Right - strafe left/right. C stick: aiming. D-pad: left/right - change weapon. Triggers: L - reload weapon; R - shoot. A - action. B - back (in menu). X - crouch/arise. Y, Z - nothing. Start - pause/resume. Movement The fastest movement is simple: going forward. Run-strafing gives no extra speed. Croughing and arising with the periodicity of 2-4 frames doesn't hide you from bullets and you still lose speed. Going with a pistol/shotgun is faster than running with a knife. However, you run with your pistol/shotgun if there is no enemy around, so your speed decreases. Some of switches doesn't work fine if you press A as fast as possible, so the best way I think to press A rapidly. If you run into the openning door, it stops. So you should wait for a while! Also, you have to wait for some time after you pressed A to move from one big room to another. Aiming/Combat Turning is so slow in this game, so I changed the aim speed to maximum for the fastest turning. However, it takes some extra frames for aiming after each turn to make a good shot. Each guard can be killed with a headshot. However, shooting enhanced enemies deals increased damage, so it's better to kill some of them with a knife. Pistol shoots once per 30 frames, shotgun - longer. On the other hand, you can increase your firerate by switching from one weapon to another. Difficulty choice I think it's not a problem. It almost doesn't affect the time. Deadly difficulty does the following: - More aggressive AI; - Enemies and items are not shown on the radar (yellow dots show ammo boxes, medkits, keycards and calm enemies/police, red dots - alerted enemies/police); - Enemies shoot more accurately (?). Escaping from policemen Policemen are invulnerable and the most attentive in the world. You should hide and wait for their slow passing. Link to video This is a test TAS of the first mission. The game is specific in terms of mechanics and, judging by the quality, developers could NOT consider some moments. I suspected that the guards will not disappear after I steal the diamonds and return to the big hall where cops appear. That would break my walkthrough because the cops would spot me immediately, but, luckly, the guards dissappear. Movement is not fully optimized and the assassination of the shotgunner who drops the Security card A can be improved. So it's possible to save 1,5-2 seconds. Also, this video is captured in 2 segments because I used a broken savestate for the main tesing and, if I start dumping the video from the beginning, the movie will desync. There are 8 missions in the game. The final mission is quick. I think it's possible to TAS this game in 25-30 mins. Any participation or suggestions are welcomed!

I'd suggest you to use simple controls instead of TASstudio. TASstudio is more suitable for editing movies rather than making them.

I decided to use this thread for Work In Progress discussions of BSD for SEGA CD. I've done the first stage. Any improvements? Maybe suggestions? Encode here: Link to video http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/28991539937993319

And how to improve this TAS? I have no ideas!

OMG! You'd better NOT see this: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/KHpV/XiGgge7nQ The top screenshot shows the error when I load your snapshot as a snapshot, the bottom screeshot - as a movie. I think I should do something else than using JPCRR =)

What should I do to set the emulator correctly? Using r11.7-precompiled. I've imported floppy.img and Wolf3d.img (originally called ''Wolfenstein 3d (1992)(Activision Publishing Inc) Game''). I did no changes to PC settings: CPU freq. - 50; memory size - 4096; modules - org.jpc.modules.BasicFPU,org.jpc.modules.SoundCard,org.jpc.modules.GMIDIInterface What should I press in DOS to start the game? Thanks!

That also means that with 5 more episodes left to do the door is open for others to participate - any takers? :)
I'd like to, but I can't even open the emulator! I do everything like Emulator Resource says, but when I open start-jpcrr.bat, I get a single window (looks like cmd window) which disappers instantly. I had better time with OpenMSX :-)

Great run! Watched at half speed to view all the actions you did. Yes vote! Great luck in TASing other episodes!

I have recently noticed that the YouTube link disappeared in the actual publication! Are you going to upload an HD encode? Alternatively, there is a low-quality encode by WebNations.

There is an .swf to .exe converter. And some Flash games really work with Hourglass. I didn't follow that thread, so wait for a detailed answer about that! I hope someone will expand what I mean.

Wow! I guess it makes sense only for residents of your country/neighbouring countries since all things are cheap, excepting GPU and smartphone. Nevertheless, it's a great proposal, but I leave it other TASers :-)

Seems like different editions did that to block the copying. You can actually download **removed** and replace it with yours (that requires CD/DVD) and run the game without any disks!

Yeah, it's WTF! Sometimes I don't know what is going on! YalTeR told me that they had lots of desyncs during the progress. He thinks it's a problem with physics. Anyway, I didn't expect this result!

Time to move on. By the way, are you going to use the secret room before fighting with Grosse?

I think backstrafing out of that room and rotating in the big room should be faster.
I think you don't need to turn around in the big room. Try to run backwards all the time until you reach an area with a dog. I'm writing from a tablet so I can't provide the map with my idea. I hope you'll catch it! :-) Otherwise, I'll make it tommorow.

Yeah... Bullets seems to fly through the walls! I've downloaded your video and watched it frame by frame. I don't know all the game mechanics, so you can ignore some of my notes. * When you entered the room with the key on 0:13, a dying dog blocked you for 1 frame. Isn't it better to kill the dog first, and then hit an SS twice or even kill him? (killing SS is not necessary, it depends on you) * You took a key and was running forward for 2 frames before you start going back. Will there be enough inertia to start running back 1 frame earlier (and take the key in the prosess of stopping)? * After that your turning was very slow (8 frames). Can it be faster? You spent only 1 frame on turning at the beginning of the level. * On 0:14 you ran 1 frame back and then got back to the previous place. It's done for manipulations? * You was standing in front of the switch for 10 frames before it turned. Does it work like that? If not, please edit the previous map. Map 1 seems to be OK! Great luck to you!

People want to see TASes of modern games (games for Wii, GC), but not many of us (I mean TASVideos community) takes long games because of difficult mechanics, RNG manipulations (AI actions, weapon damages etc), possible improves, route planning and so on. What do you think about the acception of partially TASed games (completed circle of missions/stages/areas or other part of sth game which has the logical ending)? So we can cover more games and attract more people! Share your opinions!

That won't do! I'd better TAS what I want using custom memory card from there and than wait (years) until somebody make a VM for mе or until I come up with a good mood to make it myself.
