These are the test builds (.exe) linked to on that page. You can unpack them into your main Dolphin 3.0 folder and run them: Windows x86: http://www.mediafire.com/?4ay526a0o5tlroh Windows x64: http://www.mediafire.com/?m0ht9k5cqd4r6yc

Same here. Especially when I saw that you can inhale a bunch of enemies and shoot out a giant star. Everything about this game seems great. It's that game that was going to be released on the GameCube, but got cancelled, and years later, it's finally here! It looks like it would make a good TAS too, especially with 4 players.

Attention all tasers! This may very well be an important commit for us: http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/detail?r=5d14bb5e70dd1122c36e68ee529fcda8db67243e&name=SaveStates Read the comments, it seems to do wonders. Please test and report back to skid_au at that link.
Judging by the comments, it seems to fix the savestate problem completely. That's awesome! It might completely fix the read-only savestate problem too (which would be GREAT).

I can't see how fairly you concluded that with negative votes fewer than positive ones.
Maybe he meant the people who voted No and commented felt more strongly this should be rejected than the Yes voters who commented and felt this should be published. I thought Yes/No/Meh votes didn't matter anyway. Nothing against DarkKobold, but his response seemed overly dismissive to me. It's like he said, "I'm tired. I'm going to bed. Rejecting."

Do you think you could post the WIP or at least encode it? I'm excited to see the progress.

This is so true. When I work on a game and find a new glitch or shortcut, it makes me so happy, because I'm jumping boundaries that held me back playing the game in realtime. Knowing that you're pushing the game to its limits and that you hold the WORLD RECORD for this game is really exciting. This is especially true for me if I'm trying to improve a real-time speedrun (on SDA), because after every level I'm so motivated by the huge amount of frames I've saved that I keep wanting to TAS more, and to play more. Making a tool-assisted speedrun really is one of the most fun activities I can think of.

Yeah, I agree. Take your time, improve it as much as you can, and submit it whenever you finish.

Oh, and there was a continuous war between speedrunners and TASers because they felt it was cheating (willing to bet that's still going on to a lesser extent).
Actually, now most speedrunners are very accepting of TASes and enjoy watching them. Some speedrunners even use the tricks and strategies from TASes in their own speedruns (like the SM64 speedrunners, who even thanked the TASers for their runs). Also, welcome back!

We need to get on Acmlm to do that.

The 3:56 was a single segment, but the 3:09 does have a lot of new stuff in it.
Yeah, I think the author said that for one of the glitches, resetting at a precise time is necessary to pull it off. A TAS could always do that, but it wouldn't need near as many segments.

Why does the publication use a screenshot of a frame after the input ends?
It doesn't anymore. I've replaced it with a new one.
That one looks good to me. Thanks for correcting it.

We have a faster route in the current published run, which may be faster in that hack as well.
It would be really interesting to see if it was possible. I might vote Yes just for that.

Judging by this TAS by Acmlm, it doesn't look like it's possible.
And that's the fastest route through the level?
I don't know. I figured he used the optimal route to finish in the fastest time possible.

Nice job improving this so quickly! I can't watch this until I come home from work today, but I look forward to seeing this.
Same here, only I'm in class instead of work. I'll watch it when I have access to FCEUX again.

You're complaining about their clothes being from corporations? What clothing isn't? Are you suggesting they protest naked?

Don't forget The World is Not Enough and Turok 3. This game sounds great. I'd like to see a TAS of it too.

It would have to beat NitroGenesis' time of 4:40.29 to be accepted.

Judging by this TAS by Acmlm, it doesn't look like it's possible. I enjoyed watching Acmlm's TAS. Awaiting an encode of your run.

Thanks for the encode, feos. This run looks great. A really big improvement over the published movie! I'm voting Yes, and awaiting the other team's improved run.
