Thanks! It's fast-paced and entertaining. It's exciting to watch the progress on this game. I especially liked the fast upward floating in 1-3, 2-4, and 3-1 and the fast Whispy battle. When you don't have the Burn ability, is running slower than jumping? In 1-1 and 1-2, you jump through the level until you inhale a fire enemy, but you run through about half of 3-2.

That's a good idea, jlun2. I should be able to manipulate that when I get to the Shadow Queen. AKheon, I managed to pause right as I step onto a space that triggers a cutscene (saving Goombella cutscene, Zess T.'s "Freeze!") but it doesn't seem to skip any part of the cutscene. Once I unpause, the cutscene plays out in full. Is there something I'm not doing right?

Yes, the game's text is in French.

This is really neat. I haven't heard of so many of these, since I just learned that the system existed 1-2 years ago. The NES has some truly awesome music.

I haven't played Terraria, but what would be the goal of a Minecraft TAS? I don't know if the game has an end.

I'm pretty sure the English name of this game is "Asterix & Obelix - Bash Them All!" And the ROM name appears to be "Asterix & Obelix - Bash Them All! (E).gba". EDIT: This run is entertaining and looks nicely optimized. Voting Yes.

I just finished watching it, and I'm voting Yes to this submission too. I didn't watch the old full run, but I did enjoy watching this new full run and seeing the whole game TASed like the last level. Also, the glitches were still entertaining.

MUGG's comparison encode is cool but I like amaurea's comparison video a lot. Seeing all the different Marios running on one screen with all the differences (with/without Yoshi, small/big/fire) is really cool.

Very nice run! And nice improvement! I liked the new glitch and I loved the entertainment during the Bowser fight. YES vote!

You mean trying to glitch into the Mario door's loading zone?

How is it fairly easy?
Easier than Super Mario Sunshine, in my opinion. Or any game like it.

@CoolKirby: Have you set up a goal time for your run yet?
Miles said in the SDA forum for this game that a real-time speedrun would take about 6:20 for in-game time. My goal, with perfect luck manipulation and precise movements, is under 6 hours. I really hope it's possible. I really want to run this game, so I am going to try my best to finish. I can't wait to see the final product. It's a fairly easy 3D game to run, but it's still a very long game. Thanks for everyone's support! If anyone has any helpful glitches that could save time, please post them here. I'll post an encode of the Prologue once I've finished it.

The main reason why the music sounds worse on GBA is because its smaller speakers mean it couldn't produce any bass. (Or at least I think that's why)
I disagree. If you listen to Kirby Amazing Mirror tracks, the bass is EVERYWHERE.
The whole Game Boy line seems to play less bass than the NES or SNES, which I think is why most GBx/GBA music is made of higher notes (Kirby music, Pokémon music, etc.) One example I can think of in Kirby and the Amazing Mirror is the Candy Constellation music, which starts with bass.

What about playing with 4 players for the whole game? Then they could break blocks and defeat enemies that are ahead and everyone can go through the levels faster.

By the way, I noticed something small in this game the last time I played that might save time. If you go to the menu at the same time you enter a cutscene that starts with Mario walking to a certain spot (like the first cutscene after gaining control, meeting Goombella), after closing the menu Mario just appears at the spot, skipping walking there. Also, here's a vid of some small glitches me and Kazooie found. None of it has been tested in a frame-precise environment, so who knows if something good could still come out of 'em. Buffering entering a pipe was something especially interesting to us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZi-Rak9qUY
Thanks! That angled ledge trick might be useful somewhere else where you have to climb up (maybe to get to Bobbery's chimney faster). The paper effect glitch and walk backwards glitches would be nice if I were going for entertainment, but they don't appear to save time. That's a cool cutscene trick. I tested for about an hour on every one of those cutscenes to try and get Mario as close to Goombella as possible, but now I don't have to. I also tried pausing before I talk to Zess T. for the first time, but I can't skip her text boxes (I didn't try pausing before the contact lens though).

THE GRAPHICAL PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN FIXED! The X-Nauts and more importantly, the Punies, are visible! Pipe animations and paper animations all look perfect! Finally the run won't be annoying to watch anymore (which it would have been with the graphical glitches in previous revisions)! I'll redo the run on this new revision once I finish up some schoolwork. The revision is the latest Dolphin from 6.5 hours ago, 3.0-188: 32-bit (x86) download 64-bit (x64) download

If you want a run of Luigi, it will be slower, because Luigi can't sprint as fast as Mario. Here is the speed in average of the two:
Mario:

Walking: (20 + 19 + 20 + 19 + 21)/5 = 19,8
Running: (36 + 35 + 36 + 35 + 37)/5 = 35,8
Sprinting: (48 + 47 + 48 + 47 + 49)/5 = 47,8
Flying: (50 + 49 + 48 + 47 + 51)/5 = 49

Luigi:

Walking: (20 + 20 + 19 + 21 + 20 + 19 + 21)/7 = 20
Running: (36 + 36 + 35 + 37 + 36 + 35 + 37)/7 = 36
Sprinting: (40 + 40 + 39 + 40 + 40 + 39 + 41)/7 = 39.86
Flying: (51 + 50 + 49 + 49 + 48 + 48 + 47 + 51 + 50 + 50 + 49 + 49 + 48 + 47 + 51 + 51 + 50 + 50 + 49 + 48 + 48 + 47 + 51 + 51 + 50 + 50 + 49 + 48 + 48 + 47 + 51)/31 = 49,19
Since you mostly have to sprint in the run, it will be slower. With hopping glitch with luigi, he will lose 2 pixel per 4 frames...
He appears to be faster at everything except sprinting. Maybe his other abilities would be useful in a 100% run, as Mistralet said. I would like to see a Luigi run better than a Mario run too, especially since you can play as either character for Player 1 only in this remake (not in the original).

Wow, the gameplay really resembles Kirby's Adventure, but it borrows from other Kirby games too, like Kirby 64 and Amazing Mirror. It looks so great!

I'd think a run using Luigi would have a better chance of getting published, since his physics are different in this version.
I agree. We should either have a Luigi any%, a Mario 100%, or a Luigi 100%.

I like this movie too (you saved over 5 seconds!). I just don't know if it should be published since we already have a run of the original game (which must be longer only because of its longer loading screens). I won't vote just yet.

I don't hate it. I haven't played it, but the TASes were surprising when I first saw them.

I don't think it's the same thing. Almost all NES games are for everyone of all different ages. Not all of them were made for kids, like Color A Dinosaur and Where's Waldo were.

Yes, that's what you should do. When you've made the improvements, submit the new one.

I watched it, and it's great that it's faster than the published SNES Super Mario World run (though I wonder why that is). Though, this is really similar to the currently published run, even using many of the same glitches. I almost decided to vote No, but I'll go with Meh. Also, it would be great if you could save those 200 frames and make it faster.
