Watched both normal encode (twice) and Atlas encode. I'm not familiar with this game, but watching the previous run and your commentary, as well as the submission text, it helped me a lot. Fantastic job on every way! Routing, heavy luck manipulation item drops, dealing with enemies, using Power Knuckle to save time on bosses, skipping Key Stick and Magic Bottle thanks to tricky strategies (also great job with the “13 column” screen), and lots of research and perseverance during several years. You really deserve a Yes vote.

Good stuff. So I guess Level 15 is the only viable gate clip for "Glitchless" (original) category, for now? Level 8 clip is about 1 second slower than normal route, if I remember correctly. And you say Level 9 clip is also slower. Try Guard Skip (level 1 trick) on the Level 9 Fat Boss. If you can get behind him (Select Button to buffer Intro Music) before the fight starts, maybe you can bring him to the gate faster. Your old TAS had a pretty good running-jump Guard Skip at the beginning of Level 2. Maybe something like that could work to save time.
Actually Level 8 clip is improvable - I saved about 2 seconds for now, and some more time can be gained by not killing the previous guard of this level. I'm not sure if using guard trick would be useful, but meanwhile... I didn't realize I upload a wrong draft of Level 9 boss skip. Here's the best strategy I've did: Link to video With perfect positioning and moving forward as soon as possible when the battle starts, the fat guard can be pushed back a bit - as I did with "2-cycle fight in the same battle". Timing is very important before getting a hit, because otherwise it causes an instant death.

Oh! I forgot to post some stuff I've discovered weeks ago: With good positioning and timing, you can return to the previous room without needing to open that gate again (Level 13): Link to video It's possible to skip most of Level 15, though it requires some backtracking and it's tricky to achieve it, most because of tight spacing between both chompers: Link to video The boss from Level 9 can be skippable - it's slower than beating him but this skip it's interesting: Link to video In the same battle, it's now possible to defeat him with 2 cycles instead of 3: Link to video And a gate clip from Level 8: Link to video

So, Challenger, what I was saying about Level 5 (disregard kill button), if you go straight down from the beginning, the guard to the left might be able to clip you through that gate, before you approach the 2nd guard. Of course there's no need to clip with the 2nd guard, because he steps on the button for you as you approach. But if there's good spacing with the 1st guard, you would be able to skip the whole trip to the far left room.
About Level 5, I tried this gate, and failed: Link to video Well, clipping from right side normally doesn't seem to be possible, because he doesn't advance a pixel and you aren't able to turn direction during every automatic sword-draw (but running forward is still possible, otherwise it would be a softlock). Actually this problem can be solved by losing signal of the guard like I did with Level 8 or killing the guard with Kill button cheat (not enabled in this recording) - In both cases, he will be able to turn direction and successfully bypass this gate.

Too bad about that glitch not being able to break even further this time, but at least you discovered another gate skip. Nice new level 7! And great work with the general optimization again.

Glad to see an updated TAS with proper sound emulation now, just as we really wanted before :) Great work finding even more improvents to this game, and improving the wall clip glitch with his sword. Yes vote.

Thanks for the comparision encode, FractalFusion! I didn't analyze both runs on emulator yet. So I honestly have no idea how those crazy things were achieved with this major discovery - so many random places to glitch out this game - but it's surprising that such a major glitch was discovered by a bot. Nice job discovering new tricks too. Cancelling attack animation and being able to move immediately after each hit is neat. About door skip seen on level 4: I'm not sure if this glitch can be possible with some other locations, but this one was completetly unexpected and requires precise positioning too. Almost 4 minutes of improvement is pretty impressive. The corruption glitch has great potential, but... When I tested this run on NESHawk core, this glitch easily crashes the game when trying to glitch out of the first level :\ I don't know how to solve it because I'm not good with glitches that requires memory corruption. But I'm still impressed with this work, because this is the first time the NES version has major skips :)

Wow! You created a BOT for this game? Excellent job! Finally seeing King League and Master difficult in action, as well as playing all three leagues in the same TAS. Now the long journey is over. Good idea providing an IGT version of this game too, and I watched both encodes of this game ;) Yes vote.

Why not use Item 2 to fly over all the blockies and pierobots?

Using the remaining item 2 energy to skip the pierobots saves at least 26 frames, possibly more with lag reduction by not being on the sled as much as possible. Extra possible improvement not pointed out anywhere: shooting can also let Mega Man walk at full speed immediately. This saves a few frames at the very start of Metal Man's stage where it has an otherwise tied advantage with jumping at the start.
How about testing Item 2 right after the first damage knockback? Link to video

Congratulations for submitting the first 3DS TAS! Although I'm only familiar with the N64 version of this game, you did a great work with this enhanced version. Some classic glitches still works and the Text Skip are a great addition to the run. And the ending was satisfying ;) Yes vote.

For a game that has slow-moving gameplay, seeing these crazy new glitches and solid movement optimizations are pretty impressive. Another TAS made by Sniq and great work as always! Yes vote.

Glad to see this game submitted. In the past Frenom and kchurles worked on it but they didn't finish the project. Despite having some gameplay issues, I like this Genesis version. Good idea playing the entire game, and this TAS was entertaining even without zips. The optimization is good, this TAS includes a nice amount of tricks and some glitches (such as Instant Refill and Knuckle Buster), most battles are well executed, nice MM3 boss order and great weapon arsenal choice from Wily Tower. Well, you said in the submission text about some possible improvements, but I noticed more stuff while I was watching this run. I'm not a Mega Man TASer but this game caught my attention, and I spent some time verifying this game: - The Capcom logo can be skipped even faster if you hold start button for one more frame - saves about a second. This timesaver is included on the old runs and the published Wily Tower TAS. - If you start from file 3, you can go straight to "exit" and not have to save every time. - After beating Guts Man and Elec Man, seems you can gain some frames by landing onto one of the rocks/blocks of the room instead of the ground. - On Ice Man, being underwater slows down Mega Man a bit - but he can jump high enough to get out of the water a bit. - On Bubble Man stage, those croakers can be destroyed without stopping movement at all with Quick Boomerangs - some pause damage boosts can be reduced if possible. - The Item-2 usage was good, but there are more places which can be still useful due to faster speed, like on Quick Man stage - you can save time on that room with hot heads and avoid one of the sniper armors later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=arqIeRu1GBI - Fun fact about the Knuckle Buster glitch: it works on Topman stage too. There's even more finds, but I decided to not include them to not turn this post into a huge wall of text. Anyway... Most stuff I've found are minor improvements, and as you said in the submission text, since this game can cause huge desyncs if trying to add new improvements... no worries :) This TAS is really good and has solid optimizations. You did a great work. Yes vote for me.

I don't understand about those different video corruptions at all, but seems you can get a different video corruption depending of timing. When I warped to level 16 for the first time, the video corruption was different from both screenshots: The warp glitch TAS was made using BizHawk 2.4 version, BSNES core. -------------------- Speaking of this game, I have another news: I'll work on a update of the published any% run too, since there are some mistakes I didn't fix at the time due to some problems and probably I can improve this game even more with TAStudio tool.

Oh boy! I forgot to post something I've discovered years ago (back from 2015): Link to video Normally Mega Man freezes while phase 2 is loading, but it can be avoided by continuously jumping on the very first frame possible, though he can still freeze in mid-air if he reaches maximum height. During this opportunity (for some seconds), it's still possible to attack Wily and even beat phase 2 before it starts! (there an alternative - and easier - method: if you take damage when he freezes, you can freely move). Link to video Yeah Crash Bomb can be really useful even during phase 1.
