WIP 2: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/39060527451509198 626 frames ahead. Some of the new improvements is totally new, as well as a little improvement on the first hit on the Stage 3 Boss.

You can also cancel climb over the first wall at the end of the first screen in chapter 4, also to get over the wall at the start of the last screen in chapter 7. Both should save times.
I tested this and worked very well! Great idea, KrazyRasmus! That cancel works because of shorter animation when you uses a special weapon. EDIT: New WIP: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/39013129085866987 132 frames saved on Stage 2. 388 frames ahead of published run. I'm working slowly, but with a good result. :)

There are a bunch of places where you can use, what I call cancel climbing, to get past screens faster. Cancel climbing is something you can do as you wall jump. If you use a ninpo at the correct time, you cancel your outwards momentum, and can get back to the wall, gaining height, effectively climbing the wall. It's tough to do in a RTA, but worth doing a couple of spots.
I'm aware of your RTA run. I improved carefully that shortcut on Stage 2 and I saved 112 frames! And that other shortcut, it saves 19 20 frames than my strategy used on my WIP.

I second this. Despite of nature of this game, I liked it. :) Screenshot Suggestion (Taken from BizHawk 1.11.7, since converting lsmv movies has a problem with me, starting with 1.11.9 version. So, this frame is 68578 if doesn't include the extra frame to sync on Bizhawk) Good luck with your next TAS. ;)

I decided to improve the published run. WIP: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/38927273364213167 Using adelikat's run + v.youku video, I reproduced most of improvements that included on this WIP. 256 frames ahead. WIP ends before Stage 2 boss. I actually finished that boss, but I redo this run because of some missing frames. So, that's why this rerecord is higher. EDIT: KrazyRasmus's run includes 2 new skips on Stage 2 that I didn't aware before. I'm going to redo Stage 2 again.

Great improvements! I liked a lot those long conversations skip and getting spells while use feather magic to return of start of each area instead of dying. Yes vote! And because of new skips, this run deserves a upgrade to Moons, on my opinion. :)

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/38514997428886089 Youtube Encode (EDIT: Video replaced because that audio was out of sync): EDIT 2: Deleted. I don't know if this strategy is faster than biggyboy's strategy, since I don't have a input to compare both strategies.

Reviving this topic: After I watched a speedrun of this game recently, I decided to pick this game to TAS too. WIP (1-1 and 1-2 finished): http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/38083919347763313 Well, it lags every 2 frames each. So, using frame advance is very useful for a clean input. Manipulating the guards isn't easy. Sometimes, they attack sooner or later. Waiting sometimes helps this. I used a glitch to skip half of 1-2. Saves a lot of time. It's faster to defeat a red guard with hover bomb (but only hit that guard if stand next of a door) than shooting him 2 times. Saves aproximately 4.5 seconds.

Wow! You saved a little amount of time, even with new improvements and without horizontal overflow glitch. This is a solid run. Yes vote.

Once again, great work! Liked your new optimizations, and that new glitch performed with Knuckles on Flying Battery 1. Keep it up.

Well, I don't know much about hex-edit or editing movie inputs, so I get confused.

In view of obvious mistakes people point out, I will redo the run.
Using hex-edit (or editing your movie, i think), you can fix these paths.

Great work, zggzdyp! Liked the new tricks, principally the Continuous floor sinking. You improved a lot of mansion 2 and Dracula's castle, as well as better optimization during the overworld. Yes vote. What will your next TAS, someday?

WIP 2: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/37659946180836546 Viewer's Old WIP (snes9x) desyncs on Round 2-2. So, this New WIP (BizHawk), doesn't desync, completing Round 2-2 with success! Improved Round 2-1 with several optimizations, including skipping one member of Biff's gang. Well, I saved totally over 40 seconds of old snes9x WIP, even with much more lag.

Hey Hey! We reached to 1/3 of 36 runs left of this project! Sometime in the future I'd like to take a look (and research) at Cadash (Both Genesis and PCE versions). PCE version has some nice skips (and a much faster character that isn't present on Genesis version), but I don't know if Genesis version can be obsolete by a different version of this game. EDIT: Genesis version is much better for me. EDIT 2: Found some new improvements and I'll intend to TAS on November or December 2017.

I found a RTA run of this game by SubStylee (Note how this version is faster than Genesis version, even without TAS): Link to video This version includes 2 nice skips that it's not possible on Genesis version, i think. EDIT: Video replaced by other video, that was done recently some days ago.
