Woah new sonic 1 TAS! GHZ3, SYZs, LBZ1 and SLZ1 were impressive. Great work Aglar. Yes vote. Also, congrats for your ten years on TASVideos. :)

I'm surprised with these new glitches and improvements! But I noted that you lost some frames on some paths, such as skipping the Sunsoft logo a bit later (music is notable); other, on the options screen; and not ending input eariler as possible before the last hit on the last boss (you stopped the movie some frames after the defeat). I haven't compared the stages completely, because I'm very busy on this week. So, I'll not to vote at the moment. Did you compared the stages? Also, if the demo glitch can skip to the half of stage 5, It sounds much better for this game, since the published run is on Vault.

Thanks for the encode, creaothceann! This run looks well executed. Nice to see another SMS game on TASVideos (and this game is interessing). Yes vote. I'm not familiar with this game, but the last boss can be manipulated differently?

Found a ''different'' shuriken glitch (I used donatello): http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/42589032099958068 Requires a second throw.

Nice work! And comparing your WIP through the framecounter, it's 935 frames faster than the published TAS.

Nice work with this new core. Although I don't understand about programation, those SMS/GG runs made on the current Z80 core (aka since BizHawk 1.11.9) could sync on the new core?

Hey Kyman, are you still have the new strat for The Nasty Judge? Unfortunately the youtube link is dead. Also, I found a 2-frame improvement (sword weapon) of this boss without this strat.

Ah, thanks for doing a list of actual improvements Challenger. I was planning to look through myself, but got an early desync; I'll be sure to actually fix that knowing there are improvements.
Thanks! Also I saved approximately 15-16 frames near the end of MGHZ2 (by jumping directly to the monitor instead of jumping after touches the monitor), but I haven't tested other levels or zones to find improvements because of those stupid lags. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/42146582768763142

Tested the rewind. It's very cool! You are good with this tool.
I am aware that BizHawk shows me lagging frames, but how can I go about reducing them? Do you have any pointers for me? Is this game specific? Sonic Chaos (NTSC) just happens to lag a lot...
The lag on NTSC caused me problems when I tried to TAS the sonic 2 sms. Lag is very random on this game (same as Sonic Chaos) isn't easy to reduce in this case. I assume that the engine is the same of sonic 2, I think [also the timer has the same problem. Quote from mike89: ''the timer in this game acts similarly to the one in Sonic 2 (carries over subseconds from previous levels) so that can add on up to an additional second.'']. Also, I finished the comparision: The levels that you saved time were: - The first 2 bosses and the 2nd phase of last boss. - The new route of GZ3 and AP3 before of the boss. - A bit of optimization on SEZ3 before of the boss. Some of mistakes, for future possible improvements: - Not including the levels that you get the special stage, there are some stages that you hasn't stopped to perform the peelout (that gets the top speed). - It's possible to use the SEZ3 boss glitch + the glitch at the end of act 3 to save aproximately 150 frames or more.

Coooooool way to finish this game! It was very surprising. Yes vote. With the discovery of new glitches recently, I hope if someone improves the 2p warpless someday.

I saw it before my submission and this run (no offense to mike89) is _far_ less optimized than mine.
Well, mike89 did a good work at the time. Now improvements is possible. And since BizHawk has lag counter, probably lag reduction could be possible.
You are aware, that good ending=100% run? I have problems understanding the feedback in that case. You are saying any% runs are uninteresting? If my TAS doesn't end up being accepted I am fine with it, but if you are assuming it is not optimized and tell me to look at mike89's TAS for comparision, I ask you to take a closer look, as I believe the optimization of my run far surpasses that of mike89's even if the rerecord count would be zero.
I'm not saying that any% runs are uninteresting. I found this game the only sonic game of SMS/GG that the special stages is really entertaining (Unlike the latter 2 sonic SMS/GG games), on my opinion (also, on the ending, instead of try again, you get a ''ending''). EDIT: I'm a idiot. I forgot something about the both endings (SNES Aladdin and Gekisou Sentai Car Ranger). So, I'm sorry. But this Any% run is actually interessing. And also I liked these new bugs. I could try to take a better closer note, although I noted that some of the stages is 1 second in-game timer slower than the published run (maybe be more lag than Dega emulator?) and the glitch that enables you to ignore the running off the screen at the end of each act 3 wasn't used.
I don't see how the rerecord count is a metric of how good the quality of the TAS is. Maybe it is because my process was different from other TASers? I basically didn't rerecord anything, because I did all critical inputs on a frame-to-frame basis and used rewind/skip frame instead of loading states.
Rewind skip/frame? Never heard of this. Also, checking the SEZ3 boss glitch on speedrun.com, I noted that you have a RAM Watch. I'd like to see if there are any more addresses I haven't found yet (such as boss health, for example).

Same as Evil_3D. Also, I noted mistakes, so I strongly recommend to see the published run (and for comparision): [1504] SMS Sonic Chaos "best ending" by mike89 in 14:28.55 Because at lack of optimization (and no good ending), I vote no. Sorry.

As far as i know, every version of Prince of Persia that allows the speed adjustment does not adjust the clock time, which counts down in real time when not paused by something.
The SegaCD version doesn't adjust the clock timer. I tested this during my work on the PCECD version.

Well, I don't know exactly if the recent Prince of Persia run could be accepted on Vault. I actually consider more interessing completing stages with these skips than beating normally.
I wasn't asking if it could be accepted to Vault. I was asking that if it would go to Vault, whether it would co-exist as a separate game with the other PoP games, as per the current rules.
I don't know how to explain exactly.

So, under current rules, would it be published in Vault alongside the other versions?
Well?
The PCECD version was published yesterday, on the moon tier. According by feos, manually changing gameplay speed is fine, judging by the existing precedents: [2214] Coleco Jumpman Junior by adelikat in 04:48.58 [2794] DOS CD-Man "2 players" by c-square in 00:03.72 The SNES port is more entertaining than the NES and Genesis port, on my opinion. Since the NES version sucks (and for lack of glitches), I couldn't approve this version. But since the published run is the oldest non-first 500 of this time, I''ll give a chance. So, my result is still vault. On the Genesis port, the slower controls sucks and there's no music during the stages. But the european version has music and 4 extra stages. But I don't consider that the entertainment could be improved. So, my result is still vault.

I'm an idiot. Actually I haven't saved 1 frame on the very first screen of this game. That frame was from different power-on of BizHawk. So, I fixed that note on this submission. So, I actually saved 20 frames on gameplay while the other frame, is from power-on.

The recent Prince of Persia submission brings up once again the question I posed earlier: Is it the "same" game as the ones for other platforms, or is it its own different game, deserving its own place in vault (assuming it doesn't go to moons)?
Is the ''same'' game, but there's different gameplay mechanics and different glitches, respectively. Some comparision about the NES, Genesis and SNES versions (by SprintGod): http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=31081#31081 More NES comparision: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1149#1149 Also, the Genesis PAL version of Prince of Persia has 4 extra levels. On SNES version, the gameplay mechanics is a bit improved, as well as the existence of some exclusive glitches (one of these glitches involves a possible ''wrong warp'', that I haven't verified much). For the last, I TASed the SegaCD version because this is the more acurrate version of DOS game and because I'm not familiar with JPC-RR (Also, the DOS version has a copy protection screen between the first two levels). Some other ports has the same acurracy, but only SegaCD is acessible for me, at least.

While I resynched this run to default speed, accidentally I found a mistake that I accidentally moved 1-2 frames later on the second room of level 3 (after climbing) and the second room of level 5 (during the skip of first guard), respectively. Here's the new movie file: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/41835935815333168 Level 3 Previous time: 0:07.13 / 0:07.22 New time: 0:07.11 / 0:07.18 Level 5 Previous time: 0:21.23 / 0:21.38 New time: 0:21.21 / 0:21.35 Also, I have resynched the first 4 levels to default speed. Comparision time (fastest speed/default speed): Level 1 - 00:05 / 00:10 Level 2 - 00:41 / 01:16 Level 3 - 00:07 / 00:15 Level 4 - 00:21 / 00:42 The route and the strategies are the same (except for 2 battles of level 2).

Actually I originally planned to TAS on default speed, but I TASed on the fastest speed before I find these ram addresses. Because of this those addresses (and the stupid unchanged clock timer), I decided to aims for in-game time. I actually never expected that this version hasn't very well programmed enough to match exactly as the original version. Since this game is friendly to edit on TAStudio, it's possible to copy the input to a default speed (although it'll add more in-game time on this game), adding more frames (I actually did this before), and skipping some battles that's actually faster on the fastest speed.

Thanks for your comments. Also, I added 'other comments' on this submission. P.S: I could be aimed for in-game time without these timesavers at the end of level 4, 5, 10 and 12c, but it sounds a bit controversial, on my opinion.
