After nearly 3 months, I finally finished the "update"! First of all, I knew before that EZGames was working on this game. I looked this game for some things at the time when the run has started, I updated and posted some "stuff". So, since I was interested with this game, he asked me about the project, but I totally forgot to ask him (and this game) because I was busy TASing some First 500 stuff during 4 months. Since this game isn't easy to optimize, I thought that the run would be finished with more weeks (at the time when the "fourth stage" was completed). It's my fault for the cancellation of the submission. So, since I should have contacted the authors before, my apologies for them. But for the other side, since I learned expericence with TAStudio during this year, I was able to learn this game even better, and this run also helped so much. Now about the update: almost 5000 frames were saved by redoing almost everything to optimize setup speeds to extreme (the speed mechanic looks "random" - but thanks to the addresses), and ? frames were saved due to a big new find! I'll submit the new run during this week. Please wait, because this project was tougher to finish.

Also, the main post needs some update because there's no more Genesis runs from the list.

I saw again (with a bit more of attention), and this time, I have 2 questions: 1 - After bought the holy water, on the same room, the jump was necessary to manipulate something? 2 - Also I noticed that the pause, doesn't acess holy water instantly like the published run. Was to avoid lag during the fall or something?

I was waiting for the update submission to understand the improvements a bit better. Now my commentary: I thought that this game coudn't be improvable since the previous run, but this one was completely surprsing for me! Job well done with the stages! Yes vote. I also enjoyed the subtitles all the time. What'll your next project?

It's been some time that I had the project (= "maybe someday, I'm too lazy, etc") to improve on the minimalist pacifist run. If you want to do it, don't hesitate to contact me, Challenger. I could maybe help or at least give some tips, even if I doubt that you can really learn new stuff from me about the game at this point. This was my first TAS as a newbie and the submission text was almost empty.
I have some ideas, and I'll intend to post some WIPs on the topic, like you did back on 2012.

First, Zelda, now, this one! (FDS games) Castlevania III has managed a warp glitch w/Grant before, now, another milestone reached! What a broken strategy to watch. Yes vote for me.

Great work again! Now this stage no longer suffers with the horrible slowdown. With the amount of hard time to improve these levels like this, looks like this game is not so easy to deal with. 500th post reached!

I have watched the WIPs before (as well as game end glitch), but forgot to comment: Nice work with this game. Also 2 players runs are great to watch. Keep it up!

I forgot to ask this before, but would you like me to make a video on how I can tell where I am during the zips?
Would be useful, although I destroyed that oob zip of the underground :p Also that oob furnace zip is a bit hard to follow - luckily I managed to reach the next room. EDIT: I forgot completely to say that I can't easily understand english without a text.

Well, some weeks has passed since the cancelation of the submission...I'm currently improving this game: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/490901624/addamsfamily-allbosses-improvementv5-currentprogress.bk2 Desyncs on "The Ante-Room" of The Crypt stage, because I haven't finished yet. When I was oob on the underground, I stumbled on a completely new way to acess the next room (by adding/removing some movement buttons). I have no idea how technically works, and I also managed this on the eight room of the crypt. With these finds + some new wallzips + better speed optimization = 58 seconds saved in the progress until now!!!

I decided to help with the glitched level 8 (since I know the route): http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/49208830396378775 Well, I wrote details in this link this time.

Great! However there is much hidden lag at the beginning of level 8. I hope to be able to adjust the glitch a little.
Here (costing exactly 100 frames): http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/49156880547412238

That's the intended behaviour I wanted for my script. The alternative was to let the count keeping growing even after loading savestates, which would have been confusing. Instead, by resetting it when loading a state, you're enabled to do state comparisons better. Tell me if you have a different preference.
Because otherwise, to follow well the value = careful frame advance or slowdown.

OK, the glitch is really good. I played the remaining of the game with the ThunderAxe's glitch strategy and you can still beat this game and see the credits without problems aside some glitched sprites. Also I found a true solution to avoid that "softlock": http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/49138939504341373 If you manage to beat level 8... (see one of my previous posts in this topic, since I got that same result yesterday). EDIT: I also tested your lua script and for some reason, the lag counter resets if you load a state. Also I now have 2 more addresses: 000508 - Player HP; 00050B - Enemy HP. EDIT 2: We also need address for the timer overall: Minutes, seconds, and frames.

Yes please, that would still be great. Can you please provide the addresses? There is a lua function that flags a frame as lagged.
When I worked on training mode, I used this address: 000000 - - -> I call as "framecounter", since the input normally reads every 4 frames (0-3, then loops. but if gets another value starting with 4 = is slowdown). Some weeks ago, I searched X position: 000468. Both values (WRAM) are from JP version, but also works with US version.

Hi Challenger, do you have any interest in joining the making of the new run? By the way, have here a warp to level 7, just for RAM comparison: Movie #49109953462398935
Would be nice, but unfortunately I'm currently TASing 2 games, and running out of time (due to some real life things to solve, like study) - after the 2 games, I'll stop TASing for some months. But...I could try to verify some of new progress if possible (also this game lags so much that a RAM watch is necessary to see when a lag occurs).

Nice work with the glitch, guys! I watched the MESHUGGAH's movie file and for some reason, the timer (aka X minutes left), is over and you can't save princess on the last level (and no jaffar battle). But I was playing ThunderAxe's movie, and the timer still works, but the graphics...even more glitched to see where are the player. Thank goodness after beating level 8, the game "fixes" the graphics partially. But the solution to fixes completely without losing progress is soft resetting after beating level 8, since a new password will replaces the password of stage 1 on the continue from the title screen (which keeps even with soft reset). EDIT: Forgot to mention that the "kill mode" has also activated (this time is that kill cheat which only works with X button) - ThunderAxe's movie.

How you managed to navigate well during some of out of bounds (like the underground)? Do you used some kind of camera hack or RAM addresses were used? Sometimes (after improving even more), these oob zips doesn't work properly and results on desync. And another update: I'm 1253 frames ahead until now, but optimizing speed is sometimes tricky. To reach the final result, I'll need a long time (or probably some weeks?).

Is anything even left of the current submission? Sounds like it's worth a new submission rather than a quick movie replacement.
Other than optimizing turnarounds and traps/enemies to dodge carefully, probably nope. EDIT: Here's my current progress: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/949281194/addamsfamily-allbosses-improving-furnace.bk2 (but still needs more heavy optimization and a resync).
