Challenger, no contest for me, thanks to excellent Bionic Commando and Castlevania runs.
Actually, I did very little input on Bionic Commando (the publication screenshot has a "clue"), but I contributed because I really like this game! ;)

I voted Yes at the time when was submitted, and I liked it.

I don't think this port is as good as the Arcade version (CPS1), and it works better with 2 players. But this is still a nice TAS. Very nice run.
I'm not familiar with this game (even the arcade version), but I'm agree with you.

Hmmmm...I'm suprised to see how little we worked with Sega consoles during the previous year. But I can nominate: Exonym, EZGames69 and Evil_3D.

[3617] GBA Mega Man Zero 2 by Hetfield90, Flameberger in 49:47.57 was the best GBA run I've watched during 2018.

The Bonk games always are the best of PCE runs for watch (on my opinion): [3862] PCE Bonk's Adventure by Memory in 21:24.54 [3824] PCE Bonk's Revenge by EZGames69, Memory in 17:18.24

Several classic games reappeared during 2018 (this was a great year), and between TASes: This run [3812] NES Super Mario Bros. 3 "warps" by Lord_Tom, Maru & Tompa in 10:24.94 was a surprise for most of us, including me. The highlight for me is that 8-Fortress!

klmz. He submitted a crazy amount of games (some of them were rejected/cancelled) with 2 days! Some games were interesting, and The Krion Conquest, Little Samson and Friday the 13th were the best.

Interesting stuff! Hope if you can find and document more stuff, since this game is a mystery for me and after level 1, the other levels must be tested. There are certain points of level 3 where you can exit this game just before entering a next screen and dying on the same time - one can corrupt the same stage, other can warp to level 7, and other can reset to Konami logo.

I mentioned you cannot battle a guard, or you will trigger instant warp to level 6. The same thing happens if you venture to the bottom, and pick up the Sword. (Even though you start with Sword, it's still down there for collection.)
I already tested it before.

Time to comment about this run: Watching your submission text, it's obvious how this game was tough for you, but persisted, found new tricks & mechanics, improved, and the best: You learned more experience with TASing, and I'm proud of this! I remember when the first Youtube WIP was posted, and was surprised how the previous run was so very outdated...and many months later, I never even considered that the result would bypass to sub-35 minutes, and now, it's 33:31. As a fan of DB series, unlike most other games, this one is great for watch. You improved pratically everything (too bad you can't lose any faster on the first Piccolo Daimaoh encounter - but I don't mind), and the VS fights are definitely more entertaining with these new strategies. The last battle was surprising too. After a bunch of SNES runs, congrats for your first GBA run!

First WIP to show here: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/52224254977175717 This run was started a year ago (November 2017) - 1-1 was finished while the remaining of level 1, I worked during the previous month (November 2018). The objective of this game isn't only beating levels, but also collecting all dolls, in order to acess an extra level (a.k.a level 10). So, the ending will occur later. Dolls adds time for the score when finishing a stage. It's still important to finish a stage with minimum bars so you'll recieve less points. Certain dolls will be a problem to pick, because you mush crash a certain rock for spawn it. Well, due to some problems with my PC, was formatted and since is now 32-bit, I can't acess the 2xxx BizHawk versions (although I can watch with a notebook, which supports 64-bits). But I still can explain the progress a bit: First of all, this game has lags and invisible lags. Optimizing them is very harder. So, I asked The8bitbeast for a lua script which can detect these hidden lags, as well as X & Y position and velocity - and other useful stuff. Second, new mechanics: - Jumping maintains speed until lands - gains a few pixels. - Since this game has lags (I mentioned before), sometimes slowing down speed avoids a lag, but needs careful optimization, or would recieve another lag frame later. - When picking the doll (1-3) I don't know well how I optimized the speed, but isn't also easy. - Before losing skate, I jumped in order to maintain speed, because as soon as when landing, the speed starts decreasing, but before it, I can decrease slower for not pressing right until reaches his normal max speed value (without skate - 2.188). - First boss defeated while going out of screen, exiting 1-4 directly. Eventually I'll try to work on the next level. And note about the WIP: 1-4 is a first draft, and I don't know if that fruit can be avoided or not. Otherwise...

Actually, I'm not much surprised with the shortcut, since is also present in the current "Classic Kong Complete" run (SNES). But I still liked to see that the shortcut really exists on an official port!

From these ports, this one is better for watch, because I liked to see another different "Ramp stage" skip. Yes vote!

Now with some more text, I forgot to mention before: Although the level 4 kamehameha isn't used anymore, but the ultimate attack is used once to finish Piccolo fight, picking the level 4 ki capsule is still worth, right?

Zipping glitch Actually, a time-saving use hasn't been found for this yet because of the difficulty of activating it, but perhaps someone else can? Here's an example SMV:http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/173937966/ActRaiser%20%28U%29%20%28Aitos%20Act%201%20zip%29.smv
I tried loading it in 1.51 snes9x which the file lists as the needed version, but upon opening it, it tells me I need to load it in a different version.
The different version can be 1.43 version, since most runs were also worked with this version.

I have a question: I notice in one of the videos, you go to the right, and END GAME when you are approaching the Final Guard. Did that really make a difference? If so, perhaps every room transition can provide some changes, not just the ones I highlighted on the map.
Reaching the final guard change certain things, and I also did with level 7/level 8 warp - for avoid freezing game. Other thing, here's the upside down you're mentioned before: The flipped corruption (last 2 screens), I did on level 4, which I warped from hole 4 - 8 minutes left. A slighty different position will result warping with 4 minutes left. Well, I did certain corruption on a certain hole of level 4, and returning from stage 1 hole #5, I reached it.
