https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/637914247853512136 Thanks for pointing those out, no idea how I passed over them (though I only managed to save a single frame on level 8). I think I also saved a few more frames in other stages since lag frames changed and entire levels needed to be redone so the total timesave is 32 frames

https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/637911529805007465 I did go through it and added the boss fights and made some minor tweaks in a couple of stages (i.e removing as many B presses as possible since they seem to halt movement briefly) but I believe they ended up producing worse enemy patterns although it could be something completely different. This is now a 229 frame improvement

Thanks for the improvement. I could tell that there was probably some room for improvement but it wasn't too clear where. I'll have a look at the boss fights when I have time

I was an idiot and somehow missed in forest park that you can jump across the gap instead of climbing up the big ladder. This led me to redoing most of the movie and finding another timesave in dungeon tower and came out with a tas that's 102 frames faster. I apologise for the inconvenience, here's the improved file https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/637897023860823069

My backups folder is unfortunately empty but I do have a previous version of the file from a few hours ago but only a third is done. Thankyou anyway, I highly doubt I'll be able to get back to exactly where I was since most of it was messy and very random rng manip but it'll be fine.

I was working on a TAS this morning, saved the .tasproj file and closed BizHawk only to attempt to open it a few hours later and recieve an error that says
Movie system id () does not match the currently loaded platform (NES), unable to load
I have looked at previous forum posts from other users but no solutions suggested have worked for me so I'm really not sure what to do. Here's the file https://drive.google.com/file/d/1C8Nw31YbMFvL9YvjoncDYCNTrSreDKOE/view?usp=sharing

Would be better if there was more gameplay here than just pressing a single button a couple times.
That's what the 'no level skips' run is for and it made sense to submit this at the time with it. I'm not at all bothered about whether this movie's published or not but at least both ways to beat the game have been showcased.

did you climbed facing in opposite direction at 3:03???
I think that because the eagle picked the wolf up while in the climbing animation, it resumed it after bumping into the next wall

Ok, so I played around, changed Forest Park and got that ≈ 30f timesave. However, in Construction Tower, there seemed to be a huge increase in lag and nothing would reduce it, losing all 30 frames of timesave. Unless I can be proven wrong, it might actually be faster to bump there

Are you sure? If you jump straight to the 2nd topmost platform there you can avoid that wall bump.
How did I not see that? I'll update it when I get the chance. Nw I have a bad feeling there are going to be a ton of spots like this.

Unfortunately, I've managed to find another TAS that happens to be around 3 seconds faster due to a fast first stage and my third stage being comparitively slow. This faster TAS does, however, not feature early Junior II deaths so I can imagine this won't be all too hard to beat. I am going to withdraw this submission but return with an improved version that will stay largely the same, just with better boards.

1.I classed it as 2 players because the second player is used, whether it be a hypothetical second person or not. The calculate game modes are also designed to be 1v1 matches so either way, it's still a 2 player TAS. 2. Yes, it might not be the best choice of words but the boards to seem to repeat after a while

It's more purposefully not winning by getting fewer points in order to finish the event faster. I do suppose the character never takes damage as in losing health so it probably doesn't fit. Thanks though

I've recently started writing multiple drafts for the submission text for a TAS I'm developing in order to both motivate me to keep going on and to re-explain to myself what's happening. There's this one game objective I see pop up a lot which is 'takes damage to save time'. In the TAS I'm making, the game is split into multiple events where you compete against NPC's and fortunately do not have to win them all to succeed. Would losing to save time be considered as 'taking damage'?

I recently began making a TAS of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games (DS) and ran into a small problem that kind of ruins the entire movie: There's a single autosave at the beginning of the game after selecting a save file which appears to be unavoidable. Everything is fine during the recording process but on playback, the game freezes and refuses to save (the emulator is fine; it is just the game that crashes).
