Yeah it is a nice run but I am strongly against this. This code not only makes things a lot more convenient for you, but it also pretty heavily helps you in planning the route. if the developers did not intend the weapon switch to take place, then it wasn't available for a reason. I compare this code as to using a second controller like in Mega Man 3 where you can jump really high and stuff.
I also think its' unethical to use it. What developers intended to put in the code must be respected. If you want to create a hack, sure, but this looks a bit too cheap to call it a hack don't you think?
All NES Mega Man games does not have this feature expect for Mega Man 10. Adding this code to all NES Mega Man games would fundamentally change their routes, planning but obviously increase the momentum.
Edit: Another thing, this whole: "I will do anything to provide enterainment" stuff is getting a bit out of hand. Not that I am implying Diggi has this attitude.

Well one obvious question is: what is the purpose of using the code? I hope it's only for demonstration sake because you can't obviously just add a code to make something more convenient for your run. Imagine how other runs would turn out.

I wish I had played more of this game when I was younger to appreciate it like many seem to be doing. I played a lot more Super Mario World. It was a good run and I voted yes. I am glad Carl joined you two as I am sure his candy ass made the run be made quicker :-)

Okay I never thought I would say this but this run of a hack deserves ten stars to justify the dedication we have witnessed. I have not laughed and smiled this much since nitsuja submitted his sonic 3 run where he showed it is actually possible to make sonic run vertically and whatnot all over the screen. Thank you so much for doing this run. It is an extremely entertaining run. Thousand yes votes and I hope Nach does an exception to this outstanding run. I am so speechless.. I have no clue what I just witnessed. Never seen Yoshi getting abused that much. I think in the end Yoshi kind of liked it :-)
Zipping was almost like Mega Man 1 tas. That is how good this run is. This run is a very strong candidate of being tas of the year! I really would love to see if you two would investigate if any of your tricks and manuevers could be applied to Super Mario World.

I think that is a poor argument. Like I said, just because she isn't an item does not mean she shouldn't be obtained. My definition of a 100% run in general is to collect things which helps your abilitiy and belongs to your repository. Epona certainly helps your ability to travel faster.

I think every item in your repository should be maxed out. Like getting the biggest bomb bag, quiver, slingshot, all skulltulas and I definitely think we should get Epona. What is the argument of not getting an important object like your horse? Just because Epona's head is not displayed in your repository does not mean we should not get Epona. I also vote for doing the sidequests that are related to your abilities. I don't remember all sidequests so I am not sure if there are any sidequests that are completely useless.
In general, I think it's much much easier to discuss what constitutes a 100% tas of Ocarina of Time than restricting ourselves with what we shouldn't be getting.

RBA is in my opinion a very bad thing for a 100% run. Using it to skip items, duplicating things is wrong for this category. That is why you collect things and learn a few songs to travel here and there. Keyword: collect, not to use some obscure way to duplicate or skip items. That is why I feel RBA feels okay for an any% run. Ban RBA, end of my opinion aswell.

I disagree. Isn't that the point of a 100% tas? You have to collect all medallions to reach the final stage and besides, doesn't all dungeons have something to collect? I strongly dislike RBA in this case. I want the taser to actually collect an item to make the definition of 100% sense. What he or she wants to/should collect is another issue but no RBA. It feels bad and cheats the purpose of a 100% run. A taser must find unique and clever ways to exploit everything in your repository and ability to overcome obstacles.

What exactly works? Being able to play the converted file in Bizhawk? If snes9x v 1,43 and 1.51 are deprecated, then converting a deprecated file does not matter because it used a flawed emulator to begin with.

What good does it do if you convert an smw file to bkm other than making it compatible for Bizhawk? I find it hard to believe Bizhawk magically inserts proper console emulated frames and whatnot after converting.

Finally the youtube encode was done uploading. I can safely say that I was very impressed. The entertainment value was really high. Optimization and the overall execution of this exemplary tas was top notch. I am very surprised nobody has said anything about how star-worthy this run really is, because it definitely deserves a star. Yes vote for sure! Super Mario Galaxy anyone?
