Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I was answering to the thought voiced here and repeated in the post just above my previous post in this thread.

Yeah, let me ask you both, what makes you wonder beyond any words?

I don't get why at all we need any GLITCH definitions in a branch name. When we just keep glitch abuse as a category, it may contain level skips, but the whole game flow remains relatively normal. While the runs marked as GLITCHED break the whole thing so heavily that you aren't able to understand what's happening anymore, they can cut several levels at once, or stuff like that. Rockman 2010 stands on kinda borderline between heavy glitch abuse as a category and "glitched" branch. If after the first DelayStageClear event we saw credits - it'd definately become "glitched" branch. And there's another side, when the glitches commonly used in a run become way too wild, there can appear a "low glitch" branch, as we saw with Sonic. So, the current situations with branches looks perfect to me.

Looks like SM really deserves 5 branches. Or did I miss something?

Let me just second that post. The current version of this glitched run is a simple stroke of a genius. Nothing shall be added.

This thread is oozing madness. No, really, people here must not be serious suggesting all that.

That thread also discussed the "no TASVideos.org anymore" matter with all aspects, I thought.

Do you mean that you gonna do TASing fast, or you gonna get fast results, as in runs? Also, how would you realize you became "the fastest TASer in the world" if this happens? What are the criteria?

I can't hack a game, but one can add Mario's position to the heads up display, so that the tester would see if he is in correct place.

The RNG is reset every time you enter a level. This is in order to help keep objects which use the RNG consistent each time the level is entered. Because the SMW RNG doesn't use user input or any other variable source as entropy, it will always take the same number of iterations to get a desired result. However, being off by a single frame WILL cause it to fail. This glitch is very sensitive, but not impossible. The contents of RAM is extremely hard, but not impossible as well. Especially if there were a bot involved. In theory the same input will result in the same RAM values. The only exception would be uninitialized RAM which this glitch does not use. If this is attempted on console, there are a million ways to go wrong and only a few hundred to get it right at best.
When FinalFighter discovered his Rockman's glitch (DelayStageClear), he made a hack that allowed to test this glitch with higher possibility, and it was tested on console via Power Pak. Is it possible to invent something like that to check the possibility itslef on console? http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=228835#228835

Case in point, read through the Bible and see how many people it mentions were tried and killed for one of these "crimes". The more is skipped, the more WTF is felt by a viewer. I vote for WTF & no credits. Yes, the only thing I could say in my mind after I saw this run was: "What?"

Dear God. How in the world were they able to play with death like that? And that situation occured several times in a row! I think the whole sense of HP management is packed in this screenshot.

I mean the subsidiary pages for MoviesList. And these ID pages are awesome, I've just never seen them linked anywhere. As for unlisted submissions - are they the ones that were created post factum and contain no useful text?

Let's not link to the current records, they'd require additional updating work as is always done here: http://tasvideos.org/MoviesList.html But linking to all submissions for a game would be perfect. All submissions contain discussion threads, where important info can be found. And all publications can be accessed via sibmission links, but surely not vice versa (as some submissions aren't published). Also, users sould share all RAM addresses they own, and we'd better have some simple way to post it, like ready table template. Some tables require just 2 columns, some - more. Data Cristal and these pages lack very much games we actually have addresses for.

How about posting all lua scipts related to a given game to a separate page? Requires huge encouragement of our members XD Some are too shy to sgare scripts they consider raw.

Not all games are suitable for this tradeoff.

Hehe, modern humanism tries to divide killing a man directly by Creator, indirectly by an angel and indirectly by a man (both indirect cases are supposed to kill by a direct God's word). Does THAT make sense? The whole Old Testament teems with situations where God commands to kill one person, or another, or many. And He finds it good. NOT killing a man that God commanded to kill is a sin. While killing anyone by your own whim is a sin as well.

MUGG, your script indeed looks broken in 2.1.5, but works perfect in upcoming 2.1.6.

You don't need to add logos or subtitles, just compress with x264 (not the one you mentioned, but commandline coder we all use). Also, we usually resize above 1080 to get original resolution mode. Xvid was nice for my NES encodes, but looks poor for SNES.

FCEUX can't readword. Your script works fine in 2.1.6 interim, but not in 2.1.5.
