Any% is subjective, which is why we retired it. Post #373655 Post #373887 Anything that's not any% is even more subjective. And it doesn't tell anything useful about the run at all. Also, provide the average percentage of runs that will need this label. It sounds too broad and common to warrant a special category (Aims for fastest time was retired for that reason).

Anyway, here's the resync http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/40105171216213950 If possible, I'd really like the original v1.12.2 button file to still be available.
So do you want me to replace the submission file? If so, your old movie would remain available if you upload it and put the link in the submission.

I still find this to be a bad goal choice for a run. People seem to like it by proxy, in the hopes that a full run using Cornel will eventually come along, and that this run is good enough for the time being. With that in mind, I'm going to accept this, with the likelihood that it will be obsoleted if/when a good quality Cornel run is submitted.
What do you guys think about this?

Are sourceforge and github cool with people just using their services for image hosting? While tasvideos is more than likely too small for anyone to notice, I can't imagine that's in either of the sites' TOSes.
Yeah. A sure way to make them also drop support for external image linking is to abuse the system for something it wasn't intended for.
It's there for a reason. People are using images they host in the repos all over the github wiki. https://help.github.com/articles/adding-images-to-wikis/

I started out using BizHawk, so I started with TAStudio, but over time I switched to Mupen since it's the dominant emulator for SM64 (my main TAS game nowadays), so I picked up the "traditional" way later on. I'd hate to TAS the N64 with a TAStudio like thing, because displaying analog stick input like that is weird, but IMO TAStudio/TASEditor is the best way to TAS 2D games.
Virtual pad works in tastudio if you enable recording mode. If you have some strong preference regarding how they work together, let me know.

I've constantly been a massive nuisance to everyone (even though unintentional) and lately finding myself thinking about just giving up and wanting to leave this world for Hell where I belong.
Those who belong to hell (and deserve it) intentionally destroy every sphere they enter. And they enter it in certain ways that gain them trust at first. Those who belong to hell want to channel destruction and nastiness, and can't ever be honest. I've seen so many of such people. You shouldn't compare yourself to them. The other part that I find important (and that was probably overused by others already), is that leaving this world hasn't ever guaranteed that anything would become better after that. It mostly just depends on what a person believes will happen. And it's commonly believed that "at least it won't get worse" after suicide. Yet there's literally no ground for that hope. People tend to think about some insane and unbearable situation that things can't get any worse. Oh they can, they can endlessly get worse. And if you think of it, the reason that actually makes them get worse is rarely known for sure. If it's the very fact of one's existence, then it should be the kind of person I described. But such people also rarely wish to end it all, they enjoy their nastiness. What is the actual probability that if a regular person experiences suicidal depression, the reason behind it will get cured by the suicide? I'd say it tends to zero. If something was that risky, I wouldn't consider doing it without some positive sides that it's known to have. What can be positive about murder? Murder isn't the kind of action I'd trust when my entire future depends on it. Decision is an important thing, and one's entire life can depend on it. So when deciding something, one should use their brain to always verify how logical the decision is. Because in the world of endemic insanity, logic is literally the only hope that never fails, if you don't drag lies into your decisions.

I'm sorry, but I am unable to follow how to really do it. I've tried to Google search on Github and it's wanting me to post the link rather than upload it outright (to the wiki, i think?) and Sourceforge is confusing me. x-x
Github link: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/vadosnaprimer/fretboardf/master/feos1201.gif You need to have a github account and to create a repository: https://github.com/new Then you just use the Upload files button on the repository's page. After that you open the uploaded files in the browser and copy the direct link of the Download button. If you want to rearrange your files, install tortoisegit, clone your repo, make the edits. Commit and push them. Voila, you have a dropbox-like environment, with versioning. The only downside is that you can't obtain direct links from your local copy, only from the server. But I'm not sure.

It's an average subversion hosting, if you're familiar with that. Direct links to images aren't very intuitive, but they work for some years for me already. For example https://sourceforge.net/p/feos-tas/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/Misc/Avatars/feos1.gif?format=raw returns my main avatar image, and it gets downloaded if you use that link on its own, but it also lets you embed such images. Checkout link seems to work the same: https://svn.code.sf.net/p/feos-tas/code/trunk/Misc/Avatars/feos1.gif

I use sourceforge for mood avatars. That thing is way more reliable and predictable than most image hostings. Bonus points for subversioning them for me, and providing me a local copy.

It requires the use of lua scripting, which provides some way to attach an event to actual input polls the game does. That's how the few-second-long smb3 run was made. Feed a different button pressing every time it polls and you're set.

It will be significantly different, and almost entirely redone, so delaying it won't make sense. I don't care whether it's canceled or rejected either. Just note that you also need to line up with Abobo vertically, because he takes extra time to align with you otherwise. And I'm not even sure my strat is fully optimal. So take your time and always think of other approaches. You can cancel it now.

Yeah it takes taking everything and verifying. Not any simpler than encoding yourself, just minus the time it takes to encode. And considering the fact that some publishers take days to publish their encodes that are all done, yeah...

If I'm not glitched out, you're wasting at least 337 frames on Abobo. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/40073301407240161

If Highest Score somehow changes the ending, it might be considered a designed goal. If it changes nothing in the ending, it's just an optional goal that can be ignored. So far I don't see how this game requires hi score to be actually beaten. And you don't need to make it more entertaining, because it's not entertaining at all already, so it won't go to Moons if you add speed trade-offs. Usually it's the opposite way - a run already has Moons content, and then the author decides to add speed trade-offs to make it even better. Not sensible here. So I'm not convinced that this is a vaultable thing as is.
